Norma Gentile performed at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph in our 1999-2000 Cathedral Performance series. The Cathedral Performance Series takes place in the space of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph and includes artists presenting inspired works from various faith and spiritual traditions.
Our performance series included Ms. Gentile's performance of the music of Hildegard. The setting that Norma chose was candlelight and soft lighting. This provided a perfect context for Hildegard's music.
The evening concert was one of the most engaging, spiritually uplifting performances of our series. The quality of the performance was absolutely stunning.
The audience reaction was a mixture of appreciation for the musical performance, but also of an interior appreciation that could not be expressed in applause.
We are looking forward to having Ms. Gentile join us in the future.
